Senior Project Manager - Sweden - Data Centre

Location: Sweden, Sweden Salary: circa £100k + allowances, bonus and full package

Our client is an established engineering & construction main contractor undertaking a new build data centre schemes across Northern & Central Europe. This organisation undertakes a full turnkey solution constructing these facilities from the initial design phase through groundworks, build through to the M&E installation, fit out and handover.  Company turnover is currently €1.3bn and they continue to grow steadily 

The need now exists for now seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join the team delivering a €280m+ Data Centre in Sweden

Key Responsibilities:
•    Lead the successful delivery of a high-spec data centre project from mobilisation through to final handover.
•    Define and align project goals across time, budget, quality, and client satisfaction.
•    Represent the interests of the client, ensuring effective collaboration and communication throughout the project lifecycle.
•    Provide leadership and direction across all areas of the project including engineering, technical coordination, and site management.
•    Coordinate and manage multidisciplinary teams, including internal personnel, subcontractors, and consultants.
•    Ensure subcontractor performance is in line with project KPIs and company standards for safety, quality, and programme.
•    Oversee site activities to maintain a high level of workmanship and material quality.
•    Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks proactively.
•    Resolve critical site issues promptly to maintain progress and minimise disruption.
•    Ensure compliance with the company’s Quality Management System, standard operating procedures, and engineering specifications.
•    Work closely with the design team to ensure timely delivery of required project documentation and design inputs.
•    Monitor and report on project progress through weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly updates, including tracking of schedule, cost, quality, and safety performance.
•    Manage procurement and site logistics for materials and plant to align with project milestones.
•    Support the commercial team with project costing, change control, and financial reporting.
•    Ensure the project runs according to programme and support recovery plans where needed.
•    Chair internal and external meetings, ensuring minutes and actions are documented and followed up.
•    Promote a culture of safety excellence through leadership, regular safety walks, and active engagement with the Health & Safety team.
•    Deliver the project to the highest standards of quality, in compliance with Swedish construction regulations and international data centre benchmarks.

Key Skills and Attributes:
•    Proven experience in managing large-scale construction projects, ideally within the data centre or mission-critical sector.
•    Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
•    Excellent time management and communication abilities.
•    Commercial awareness and experience with project cost control and contract administration.
•    Proficient in project management software and reporting systems.
•    Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to project delivery.
•    Knowledge of Swedish construction practices and regulations is a distinct advantage.
•    Willingness to work on-site in Sweden for the duration of the project.
